Education
H.Y.P.E. at Our Place Peel - Helping Youth Prepare Effectively is a programme for youth age 16 - 21, provding help to overcome fears and develop the skills needed to complete education, find a job, fulfill volunteer hours and successfully live independently.

Zonta Meadows Park
Our stewardship of this Mississauga park (410 Rathburn Rd. West) began in 1991 as our Club’s 25th Anniversary project. Two special interest areas are found in this park:

The Helen Horn Wildflower Meadow – established as a memorial to a fellow Zontian. Through this we convey our respect for women colleagues and our commitment to good stewardship of the natural environment.

ZAP – Zonta Accessible Playground – an amazing barrier-free playground opened in June 2001 that invites all to play regardless of their abilities. Please see Accessible Playground page for details and photographs.

Violence Against Women
Peel Committee Against Woman Abuse – Zonta service grants assist this important umbrella organization to promote a comprehensive and effective response to woman abuse in the region of Peel. This year our donation supports the further translation and printing of the booklet “Breaking the Cycle of Violence: Children Exposed to Woman Abuse”.

Peel Elder Abuse Prevention & Support Programme - Many elder women suffering abuse have no funds with which to support themselves upon leaving a relationship. Our donation to this programme’s Emergency Fund will enable women in need to make a new start, until financial issues can be sorted out with help of programme staff.
